Appooh
System:Arcade (Playable with MAME)
Year:1984
Developer: Sega
This is one of those fun little arcade games I wish I played years ago. Although it's name is a bit mysterious the gameplay isn't. It is easy to sit down and lose a hour just playing with each wrestler to see how they move.
Graphics. 7/10
This game looks hillarious and the playing is awesome. All the wrestlers look unique and have their own little quirks. G.Baba for instance lunges around because he has such long legs. And A. Buchie kind of wobbles his way around the ring. The ring is very detailed and all of the moves look great.
Gameplay 5/10
This game has a very small moveset. Although you should expect that for such a small and old game this still doesn't provide the level of detail you would like. Although what it lacks in detail it gains in playability You are able to leave the ring and take it out side although from what I can tell you can't use weapons.
Sound 3/10
Very generic MIDI and bleeps and bloops.
Overall this game is so much fun. You can play as all of the classic japanise wrestlers from that time and a few that might be farmilar to american fans. Like andre the giant and Hulk Hogan. And it also has Abdullah the butcher and Tiger mask.
Overall 7/10 (Not a average)
